Industrial Drives Design is a California corporation, founded in 1984 by Pierce Verleur and Jolanda Harvill. It has operated successfully as a manufacturer's representative firm since then in the industrial control marketplace.
The firm specializes in OEM sales of motion control and machine automation solutions. It has always taken a technical approach to the sales task. As the market place in California and Arizona became more competitive, IDD was well suited to achieve differentiation for its products by being able to provide more than component information to the OEM customer. Integrated solutions for specific applications add value to the components sold to the OEM customer. IDD sales engineers are capable of providing this valuable service to the OEM engineering department.
A unique blend of business experience and technical design capability characterizes the IDD sales engineer. This individual can provide valuable assistance to the customers' goal of offering a competitive machine with the latest useful technology. We know that we can add significantly to the performance/cost ratio of our customer's products.
Between 1995 and 1999, Ms. Harvill was Operations Manager for the West Coast division of EMS, one of IDDs principals. With the acquisition of EMS by Magnetek in 1999, Ms. Harvill has returned to IDD to assume Operations and Customer Service Management. She brings 15 years of experience in customer satisfaction back with her.
Mr. Verleur's experience with AC and DC drives began in 1980. He has worked extensively with motor and motion control since then, developing several new products as well as new solutions to traditional motor control applications. Mr. Verleur is now concentrating his experience in the role of Outside Sales Engineer for IDD.

Jolanda Harvill - Customer Service
Ms. Harvill has a Master's degree in Marketing from the University of Amsterdam. She co-founded two companies with Pierce Verleur, IDD in 1984 and Rosa Automation Engineering in 1990. Rosa was merged with EMS in 1995 and ultimately acquired by Magnetek in 1999.

Pierce Verleur - Sales Engineer
Mr. Verleur received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and an MBA. He began his career as a staff engineer for Carpenter Steel Corp. He co-founded two companies with Jolanda Harvill, IDD in 1984 and Rosa Automation Engineering in 1990. Rosa was merged with EMS in 1995 and ultimately acquired by Magnetek in 1999. Pierce held the position of Western Regional Manager for EMS from 1995 – 1999.

Vit Dispanurat - Sales Engineer
Mr. Dispanurat was previously the key account sales manager for Magnetek-National Electric Coil in the West Coast. Magnetek National Electric Coil was a major repair facility for large motors, generators and transformers, as well as an electric motor and parts distributor. As such, he is familiar with all the West Coast utilities and water districts directly. He also has a large amount of experience with large electrical contractors based on the resale side of Magnetek's business. He knows the A & E community. He was responsible for securing the BART rebuild contract, which was 35% of the gross revenue for Magnetek LA facility. He was the Magnetek President's Club winner 4 years in a row. Mr. Dispanurat is experienced with the Magnetek line of variable frequency drives and possesses a great deal of experience with AC and DC motors and gear reducers. He also has five years experience as a distributor for the overseas market in the Pacific Rim.
Joseph Mullins - Sales Engineer
Prior to joining IDD, Mr. Mullins was the Western Regional Manager for Weidmuller Inc., a global leader in automation and wiring solutions. Before joining Weidmuller, Mr. Mullins spent several years as a territory Manager for Eaton Corporation. While at Eaton Corporation, Mr. Mullins promoted aerospace controls and Cutler Hammer products to a diverse industrial base including defense, transportation, medical, telecommunications and commercial appliances. Mr. Mullins also broadened his experience as the sales and marketing manager for an international subcontractor of computer disk drives. Mr. Mullins earned his undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
